- Family Ministry | Pleasant Hill Christian Church
Pleasant Hill Christian Church serves families, including children of all ages. PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH Our Next Generation Here at Pleasant Hill Christian Church we are passionate about your family. We believe that parents are the main spiritual influence in the lives of their children, and we want to come alongside parents to equip them to lead their children to Christ. We strive to cultivate authentic relationships and Biblical teaching that truly inspires the entire family to carry the light of Jesus into the world. Both of our Sunday morning worship services are family oriented. Families may sit together and take advantage of the clipboards with children's resources at the entrance to the sanctuary. Each service also includes a "Kids' Minute" that goes along with the main point of the sermon. At the 10:45 service, parents may stop by the Welcome Center to register and drop off their children to their classes, knowing that they will be learning about God in a safe environment that's been created just for them. The Grove Kids is an umbrella to encompass all of our programming for babies through 5th grade. Nursery Preschool Elementary We love our middle and high schoolers, and in our Rooted Students ministry we strive to teach them the good news of the gospel through small group activity as well as through family worship. - pantry info | Pleasant Hill Christian Church
Directions for using and donating to the free pantry on our campus PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH Helping neighbors in need! You have probably noticed the addition of a new little red trimmed box on a pole in the parking lot near the playground. That’s our new Free Little Pantry --a new addition to our Benevolence Program! The Free Little Pantry is intended to provide a discreet way for us to share non-perishable food items and essential hygiene products with community members who need them. Free Little Pantries show up in communities nationwide to address a need for emergency food assistance, and we are excited to participate with our own Free Little Pantry. They provide an option for folks who can’t get to a larger pantry or to a food bank by offering some immediate help. Our Free Little Pantry program is here to help those in need -- anonymously, no questions asked, no signing up, and a convenient place to go. People are sometimes reluctant to ask for help, and this gives a discreet way to provide them with help. The program encourages needy people to "Take what you need and be blessed " , and church members to "Share as you are able." Since our Free Little Pantry is new, we have been trying to determine what food and other products are most in need for our neighbors. We started with a determined inventory of items, and volunteers have checked weekly to see what is being used, what is not, and to restock what has been taken. Based on our observation over the last few weeks, the most used items have been food items that can be eaten with very minimal or no preparation, and some basic hygiene products. Below are items that are particularly in demand: Canned meats [tuna, Vienna sausages, Spam] Cans of soup or stew Pre-made meals to be heated Cans of pastas and other ready to eat meals Breakfast cereal Peanut butter Jelly Macaroni & cheese Fruit cups Small bags of nuts, pretzels, etc. Feminine products Hygiene products [toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo] The Free Little Pantry is small, so it cannot stock the quantity and variety other food pantries can. If you want to be involved, you can leave some items from the suggested list or you can make a donation specified for the Free Little Pantry, and the funds will be used to purchase replacement items. The Free Little Pantry is another way we can show God’s love in our community!

- Beliefs | Pleasant Hill Christian Church
Pleasant Hill Christian Church believes in following the teachings of the Bible through preaching and ministries. PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH We Believe.... We believe in one God who is three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things. ( Genesis 1:1 , Matthew 28:19 , 2 Corinthians 13:14 ) We believe in Jesus Christ , God’s only Son, who died on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8 ) We believe in the Holy Spirit , who begins to dwell within us at baptism, who convicts us and equips us for growth and service. (John 16:8-9 , Acts 2:38 , Ephesians 1:13-14 ) We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our final authority. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 , 2 Peter 1:21 ) We believe that God created man with free will and man willfully sins against God. Sin separates man from God and man is lost without Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23 , Romans 6:23 ) We believe salvation is offered to all mankind through the grace of God and the blood of Jesus Christ. (John 3:16 , Ephesians 2:8-9 , 1 Peter 1:19 ) We believe the Bible clearly teaches a plan of salvation through faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Jesus publicly, and being baptized into Christ. (Acts 2:36-38 , Romans 10:9 , Mark 16:16 ) We believe that baptism by immersion is the commanded method of baptism as found in the Scriptures, and best depicts our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Romans 6:4 , Colossians 2:12 , John 3:13 ) We believe that the church is the body and bride of Christ on earth, founded on the day of Pentecost. (Matthew 16:13-18 , Acts 2 ) We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. When Christ returns, He will pronounce the fate of each individual – the saved to eternal life in heaven, the unsaved to eternal separation from God in hell. (John 5:28- 29 , Revelation 21:1-4 )
- History | Pleasant Hill Christian Church
Founded in 1852, Pleasant Hill Christian Church has a rich history in our community. PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH Our History TIMELINE OF PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH Founded in 1852 , Pleasant Hill Christian Church has been a part of our community for over 170 years. The first church building was made of logs and was located between the current building and the adjoining cemetery. Children have always been valued at PHCC. When the church first began, children were seated on the floor on pallets and were given a biscuit or cornbread to keep them pacified during the service. Late 1800's The log building burned down and a new frame building was erected on what is now the parking lot. L ate 1930's Sunday School began, and the church also began meeting twice a month. May 8, 1955 A new sanctuary was dedicated. This building is our current education and office building. 1960 The church began meeting every Sunday. October 6, 1991 The current worship auditorium was dedicated. OUR LEGACY PHCC has been a part of our community for over 170 years. That is a long and rich legacy. It would be easy for our legacy to be one of survival. We have made it through a civil war, two world wars, economic downturns, a global pandemic, and turmoil in our country. This church has survived; however, our legacy should be more than just one of survival. Our legacy must be one of people's lives being changed by the truth. In the past, men and women have taken this task seriously. If you walk through the cemetery in front of our building, you will see the names of many who sacrificed so that the truth of God’s word could be proclaimed. Now, it's our turn to keep this good work going. We are striving to make sure that our legacy continues to change lives for the better and to bring souls to the Lord. We continue to seek the lost, mature the Christian, and serve in our community. What role will YOU play in the legacy of PHCC?
