PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH 2025 Bible Reading Plan Church-Wide Bible Reading Plan Starts on January 1 5 Minutes a Day - If you’re not used to reading the Bible daily, start with this easy to use tool to read a chapter of the New Testament in 5 minutes a day. This reading plan will take you through all 260 chapters of the New Testament, one chapter per day. The Gospels are read throughout the year to weave in the story of Christ all year long. 5 days a week - Determine a time and location to spend 5 minutes a day for 5 days a week. It is best to have a consistent time and a quiet place where you can regularly meet with the Lord. 5 ways to dig deeper - Pause in your reading to dig into the Bible. We offer services to support those who have opened their homes to children who need such care, whether they are adoptive, foster or kinship families. We provide opportunities for grafted families, both parents and children, to get together and share experiences, ideas, and just enjoy each other's company. Our yearly Christmas party is always fun for everyone! (see images below ) Foster Care We appreciate all that you do as foster parents! Your hard work and dedication is truly admired here at PHCC. We also understand that you need a break every once in awhile. Every other month we provide a Foster Parents' Night Out where you can drop off your kids in a safe environment to enjoy a night full of FUN! How to donate Wings of Hope Memorial Garden May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 Our Wings of Hope Infant Loss Memorial Garden provides a place for grieving families to gather to remember a life so little and yet loved so much. Infant loss can happen for different reasons at many different times during a pregnancy. Often there are no remains to be laid to rest. Wings of Hope will provide families a personalized stone that can be placed in the garden as a permanent memorial to a precious life. If the family would like a small memorial service, then PHCC is happy to provide that. We hope this is a place that will bring families comfort and peace.

PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH Helping neighbors in need! You have probably noticed the addition of a new little red trimmed box on a pole in the parking lot near the playground. That’s our new Free Little Pantry --a new addition to our Benevolence Program! The Free Little Pantry is intended to provide a discreet way for us to share non-perishable food items and essential hygiene products with community members who need them. Free Little Pantries show up in communities nationwide to address a need for emergency food assistance, and we are excited to participate with our own Free Little Pantry. They provide an option for folks who can’t get to a larger pantry or to a food bank by offering some immediate help. Our Free Little Pantry program is here to help those in need -- anonymously, no questions asked, no signing up, and a convenient place to go. People are sometimes reluctant to ask for help, and this gives a discreet way to provide them with help. The program encourages needy people to "Take what you need and be blessed " , and church members to "Share as you are able." Since our Free Little Pantry is new, we have been trying to determine what food and other products are most in need for our neighbors. We started with a determined inventory of items, and volunteers have checked weekly to see what is being used, what is not, and to restock what has been taken. Based on our observation over the last few weeks, the most used items have been food items that can be eaten with very minimal or no preparation, and some basic hygiene products. Below are items that are particularly in demand: Canned meats [tuna, Vienna sausages, Spam] Cans of soup or stew Pre-made meals to be heated Cans of pastas and other ready to eat meals Breakfast cereal Peanut butter Jelly Macaroni & cheese Fruit cups Small bags of nuts, pretzels, etc. Feminine products Hygiene products [toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo] The Free Little Pantry is small, so it cannot stock the quantity and variety other food pantries can. If you want to be involved, you can leave some items from the suggested list or you can make a donation specified for the Free Little Pantry, and the funds will be used to purchase replacement items. The Free Little Pantry is another way we can show God’s love in our community!

Little ones in our nursery enjoy fun Bible songs and story time. Nursery is provided at the 10:45 Sunday morning service and on Wednesday night. Parents can stop at the welcome center to check in their child OR speed up the process by pre-registering below. They worship together and have a large group lesson, then break down into small groups based on age. Elementary classes meet during the 10:45 service on Sunday morning and on Wednesday night. PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH We Believe.... We believe in one God who is three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things. ( Genesis 1:1 , Matthew 28:19 , 2 Corinthians 13:14 ) We believe in Jesus Christ , God’s only Son, who died on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8 ) We believe in the Holy Spirit , who begins to dwell within us at baptism, who convicts us and equips us for growth and service. (John 16:8-9 , Acts 2:38 , Ephesians 1:13-14 ) We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our final authority. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 , 2 Peter 1:21 ) We believe that God created man with free will and man willfully sins against God. Sin separates man from God and man is lost without Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23 , Romans 6:23 ) We believe salvation is offered to all mankind through the grace of God and the blood of Jesus Christ. (John 3:16 , Ephesians 2:8-9 , 1 Peter 1:19 ) We believe the Bible clearly teaches a plan of salvation through faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Jesus publicly, and being baptized into Christ. (Acts 2:36-38 , Romans 10:9 , Mark 16:16 ) We believe that baptism by immersion is the commanded method of baptism as found in the Scriptures, and best depicts our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Romans 6:4 , Colossians 2:12 , John 3:13 ) We believe that the church is the body and bride of Christ on earth, founded on the day of Pentecost. (Matthew 16:13-18 , Acts 2 ) We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. When Christ returns, He will pronounce the fate of each individual – the saved to eternal life in heaven, the unsaved to eternal separation from God in hell. (John 5:28- 29 , Revelation 21:1-4 )

PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH Our Staff Kasey Kuyper Senior Minister The Kuypers moved to Jasper from Florida in the summer of 2006. Kasey graduated from Florida Christian College with a degree in Preaching and Youth Ministry. Before accepting the ministry at PHCC, he served in Family and Youth Ministries in Florida. Missy is employed as a teacher in Pickens County. Kasey and Missy are blessed to have three boys: Tyson (not pictured), Levi, and Isaac; and three dogs: Cole, Walter, and Ovis the Wonder Dog. Shayla Myers Family Ministry Director Shayla graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She also has a Master’s in Human Services with a focus on Family and Marriage counseling. Before moving to Georgia in August of 2013, Shayla and her husband, Harley, worked in Family and Youth Ministries in Florida. Harley has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and is currently working for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. Harley and Shayla are blessed to have one little girl, Kinley, and one little boy, Emerson. Chad Lanier Worship Leader Chad has attended PHCC for over 30 years and has been part of the worship ministry for the past 18 years. He graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Science Education. He also has a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. Amber graduated from Reinhardt College, Grand Canyon University, and Nova Southeastern University with degrees in Early Childhood Education. Chad and Amber both teach in the Cherokee County School District. They have three sons, Christian, Austin, and Brayden, as well as two angel babies, Carson and Owen.

PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH Dollar Club Here's How It Works A donation box at the entry to the sanctuary gives everyone the opportunity to give a dollar (or any amount.) These dollars will be pulled together and used to meet the needs of our friends and neighbors. This can be a good way for parents to teach their children to show love to others by donating. How the money is used Sometimes people have a need for which just a little bit of help could make a big difference. Maybe you have a neighbor who cannot afford a car seat, a student who needs school supplies, or a co-worker who needs help filling a prescription. You may know the need but not have the resources to help. That’s where the Dollar Club may be able to step in and help you meet the need. Make a request If you have a need or know of a need, you can click below to fill out a request form. This form will be forwarded to a team of volunteers who keep track of our Dollar Club resources, pray for every request, and allocate resources. REQUEST FORM FAQ How do I give my dollar? You can designate it on your in-person giving, online, or use the “Love Where You Live ” stand in our foyer. Am I expected to give to the Dollar Club? No, this is all on a voluntary basis. Can I give more than a dollar? Of course! Will every request be approved? The Dollar Club team will approve as many requests as they can. While this team wants to help you to help others, they also will be good stewards of all resources that have been given. There may be times that the team redirects the need to other community groups who may be able to help. Does this replace our benevolence ministry? No, our benevolence team has a different focus and guidelines that they use to meet needs inside and outside the church family. There will be times when the two teams work together. Will I hear of ways the Dollar Club is making a difference? Absolutely! We want to celebrate together. Every month we will highlight ways the Dollar Club is making a difference. PLEASANT HILL CHRISTIAN CHURCH Wednesday Night Dinners We are in need of another cook for the Wednesday night meals. If you can help, please see Kasey. Even if it is only one Wednesday, it is a huge help. In addition, we have a dessert sign up in the fellowship hall for anyone who could help bring a dessert. It really helps our cooks! Grafted Family Team As we begin 2025 we would like to put together a team to help support Grafted Families (Foster, Kinship, and Adoptive) in our community. This team will include childcare for foster parent training nights that happen monthly. Please contact Kasey or Shayla if you would like to be on this team. Little Free Pantry We are in need of Easy Open Non-Perishable Meals . Encouragement Team The Encouragement ministry team works to provide encouragement to those in our church family. Through cards, call, and special projects they spread lots of smiles. If you would be willing to join this team, please see Verne or Ellie Girard .
